What is recorded, what is derived, and what is an estimate

ISO 22343-1:2023/PRF Amd 1 is at stage 50.00: the final text is received or the FDIS is registered for formal approval. That is the approval stage. It is not publication. This page separates the recorded facts from the planning estimate, because the difference decides what you can put in a specification.

Stage 50.00 is recorded. Later stages are not, so the table leaves them blank. A blank is not a prediction and it is not a date. The planning date is a separate, labelled estimate.

THE BASE TEXT

The edition that applies today is published

The clause register

ISO 22343-1:2023 is a published International Standard. It sets impact performance requirements and a single-impact test method for a vehicle security barrier, and it rates the performance. It cancelled and replaced IWA 14-1:2013, which was technically revised. The 2023 edition is the one a specification should cite today, and it is the edition Amendment 1 will amend.

This site therefore does two things at once. It tracks the amendment record, including the stage and the estimate. And it states the published base clauses, with the clause cited, so the buyer can build the evidence now. Where the public record is silent, for example on the amendment's changes or on a clause the preview does not show, the site says so rather than guessing.

What this means for a contract. A contract written today should cite ISO 22343-1:2023 and should state that Amendment 1 is at FDIS, not published. A clause that cites the amendment as the applicable text is premature. A draft cannot be certified against, and no product can be certified to Amendment 1 before it publishes.
WHAT IT MEANS

Three things to take away

The detail
01

Use the published edition

ISO 22343-1:2023 applies now. Build the report, the foundation record and the rating decode against it, not against a draft you cannot read.

02

Do not cite the amendment

The amendment is at 50.00. Its text and change summary are not public. A specification that cites it as applicable is ahead of the record.

03

Watch the dates, not the rumour

The proof date and the publication date are not recorded. The watch emails when the record changes, with the diff. The planning date is an estimate.

THE RECORD THIS IS BUILT FROM

Read from the public record, not invented

Every clause answer on this site points to the official record or the public preview behind it, so you can check any line yourself. The register holds 25 records, 111 evidence lines and 100 common failure lines. The dates come from the ISO stage record. The amendment text is not public, and this site does not describe what it changes.

ONE STAGE RECORD

No invented date

Stage 50.00 is recorded on 8 October 2026. The planning date is an estimate and is labelled wherever it appears.

Read the record

The base standard is published. The amendment text is not public at FDIS. Each record cites the public source it comes from. Where the public record is silent, the page says so.
